About Once Human

Once Human is an open-world survival game set in a weird, post-apocalyptic future where reality itself has gone wrong. A mysterious substance called Stardust has twisted the world, mutating humans, animals, and even the environment into something alien. You play as a “Meta-Human,” someone who has adapted to this corruption instead of dying from it. That means you’re not just surviving—you're evolving and fighting back. The game mixes survival, horror, and exploration with light RPG elements. You gather resources, craft gear, and slowly build up your strength while uncovering what really happened to the world. Unlike a simple zombie survival game, Once Human leans heavily into cosmic horror and strange biomechanical monstrosities, giving every area a sense of unease and curiosity.

Once Human Gameplay

Gameplay in Once Human revolves around three main loops: survive, build, and fight. You’ll start almost naked and afraid, hunting for basic materials like wood, metal, and food just to stay alive. Hunger, thirst, and environmental hazards actually matter, so careless exploring can get you killed fast. As you progress, you can claim land and construct a base—from a small hideout to a heavily fortified compound filled with crafting stations and defenses. Building isn’t just cosmetic; good placement of walls, turrets, and traps matters when corrupted creatures or hostile players come knocking. Combat mixes gunplay with special Meta abilities, letting you customize your loadout for solo or co-op. You can roam the map with friends, tackle world events, and raid high-level zones for rare loot. PvP servers add extra tension, turning every encounter with another player into a risk–reward choice: team up, trade, or try to steal their hard-earned gear. Progression comes from improving your equipment, unlocking new tech, and tuning your Meta powers so your character fits your preferred playstyle—whether that’s stealthy scavenger, base-building engineer, or frontline fighter.
