If you’re feeling lost on who to build next, this Punishing Gray Raven tier list is exactly what you need to keep your team ahead of the curve.

Honestly, with so many Constructs dropping every other update, it’s way too easy to waste your resources on characters that just don’t hold up in Phantom Pain Cage, Norman, or Warzone.

Then, why not get ahead of the meta? We’ve broken down exactly who’s worth your black cards and who’s better left on the bench. Let’s find out!

How We Built This Punishing Gray Raven Tier List

Before we start chucking Constructs into S, A, or the dreaded “please-don’t-invest-in-this” tier, let’s talk about how these rankings came to life.

This Punishing Gray Raven tier list is backed by community insights, credible sources, and, honestly, a borderline unhealthy level of meta obsession.

OTHER GAMES

First off, we looked at performance in the game’s biggest endgame challenges: Phantom Pain Cage, Warzone, and Norman Revival Plan.

Some characters dominate all three, making them top priorities, while others… well, they’re just there for collection goals.

Next, synergy and role flexibility played a big part. It’s not enough for a Construct to slap hard solo; they need to slot easily into team comps and do their job, whether that’s DPS, tanking, or amplifying damage for your main carry.

We also factored in investment value, especially at SS or SSS ranks. Of course, grinding resources in Punishing: Gray Raven feels like crawling through broken glass sometimes, so you want characters that pay off when fully built.

Some Constructs become absolute monsters at their max rank, while others barely step up their game. Finally, here’s how this Punishing Gray Raven tier list is structured:

S Tier characters define the meta and are must-haves across all modes. A Tier is are powerful picks that thrive with the right team setups.

B Tier heroes are useful but niche, and C Tier and below? Sorry oldies, but power creep didn’t leave room for you in this meta.

Punishing Gray Raven Tier List (July 2025 Updated)

Now that you know the how, let’s jump into the who. This Punishing Gray Raven tier list below will help you decide who’s worth leveling up, promoting, and flexing in all the sweaty endgame content.

Keep in mind, the meta shifts with every patch. What was top-tier last season might be outclassed today (RIP some old favorites).

Best Attackers in Punishing Gray Raven (July 2025)

In Punishing: Gray Raven, your DPS units are the engine of your team.

If you’re bursting through Phantom Pain Cage or speed-clearing Warzone, these Constructs carry the damage and the expectations.

1. S-Tier Attackers (DPS)

These Constructs are absolute monsters. They dominate every major mode, bring powerful burst windows, and almost always come with time-stop mechanics. If you have them, build them ASAP.

  • Lucia: Pyroath

She’s fast. She hits like a truck. And her synergy with Vera: Geiravor makes her even scarier. Add in strong time-stop windows, and she solo-carries every mode.

ElementBest For
Fire, PlasmaPPC, Warzone, Norman, you name it.
  • Selena: Pianissimo

She’s hands-down the best physical DPS in the game. Her animations are smooth, her burst is wild, and she works everywhere. Even without elemental matchups, she delivers.

ElementBest For
Physical, GlaciationLiterally everything.

2. A-Tier Attackers

Not quite S-tier, but still incredibly viable if paired with the right team or element setup.

  • Lamia: Lost Lullaby

She’s got that dreamy rotation flow with great burst. She shines with Dark teams and pairs especially well with Daemonissa.

Element
Dark
  • Bianca: Stigmata

Classic high-burst Construct with time-stop and solid Trueslash scaling. Good option for physically focused teams.

Element
Physical, Trueslash
  • Luna: Oblivion

Super flexible, fits in many teams, and can act as a hybrid damage/support when needed. Not quite meta-defining, but always dependable.

Element
Nihil

3. B & C-Tier Attackers

Some of these units used to be great, but time and new banners have not been kind. They’re situational at best, and rarely optimal.

  • Lee: Hyperreal

Limited burst window, and with Lucia: Pyroath around, there’s just no reason to pick him unless you’re a fan or lack options.

4. C & D Tier Attackers

We love them. We used to maintain them. But the meta has moved on.

c tier attackers in punishing gray raven
  • Lucia: Plume – Beautiful moves, but orb hungry and lacking time-stop.
  • Luna: Laurel – Was once great, but now too slow and heavily power-crept.
  • 2B (NieR Collab) – Cool crossover, clunky kit.
  • Lee: Entropy – Way too clunky to keep up.
  • Bianca: Veritas – Lightning visuals, but lackluster DPS today.

Best Tanks in Punishing Gray Raven (July 2025)

Tanks in Punishing: Gray Raven are shredding, time-stopping, burst-enhancing beasts when played right.

In the current meta, the best tanks bring massive utility, uptime, and synergy to the table.

1. S-Tier Tanks

Tanks deal decent damage and provide massive utility through shred, survivability, and time-stop.

  • Nanami: Star Trail

Nanami is everything you want in a tank: fast rotation, built-in shred, reliable time-stop, and insane solo potential. She’s the go-to for both casual players and leaderboard climbers.

ElementBonus
Lightning, BurnShe can even carry under-leveled teams with the right setup.

2. A-Tier Tanks

These tanks offer solid performance and slot well into most teams, just a step below Star Trail in terms of versatility.

  • Wanshi: Lucid Dreamer

Excellent for Ice teams, reliable burst + time-stop, and strong shred uptime. He’s smooth to play and very dependable in all content.

Element
Ice, Glaciation
  • Watanabe: Epitaph

Good synergy with Fire teams, fast burst windows, and a clean rotation. A great complement to Lucia: Pyroath if you’re running a full Fire squad.

Element
Fire
  • Hanying: Solacetune

One of the more versatile A-tier tanks. Fits into multiple team comps, especially for players who rely on physically focused lineups.

Element
Physical, Trueslash

3. B/C-Tier Tanks

While still usable in early game or niche comps, Karenina: Scire, Vera: Garnet, and Rosetta: Rigor just can’t keep up with newer-gen tanks in PPC or Warzone.

  • Karenina: Scire

Not bad, but just doesn’t bring enough utility or burst to compete with newer-gen tanks.

Element
Dark, Plasma
  • Vera: Garnet

Decent rotation and shred, but lacks the supporting mechanics and meta scaling to stay relevant in 2025.

Element
Lightning

4. C & D Tier Tanks

These tanks had their moment… but that moment’s long gone.

  • Rosetta: Rigor

She’s got good shred, but no time-stop = hard no in today’s meta. PPC especially punishes this hard.

  • Nanami: Starfarer

Clunky to play, outdated kit, and offers very little in high-tier content. Only useful for nostalgia or early-game fallback.

Best Supports in Punishing Gray Raven (July 2025)

And, if you’re trying to melt bosses in PPC, climb Warzone ranks, or clear Norman Revival Plan, you need supports that can rotate fast, apply buffs, and bring time-stop utility to the table.

Amplifiers can make or break your team’s DPS output, and right now, the competition is fierce.

1. S-Tier Amplifiers / Supports

The best teams need support that can buff, time-stop, and keep that damage flowing. These are the MVPs behind every leaderboard run.

  • Vera: Geiravor

Fast rotation, consistent time-stop windows, and huge damage amplification. She’s the ideal partner for Fire units like Lucia: Pyroath.

She also works in most comps, even outside her element.

Element
Fire, Darkflow
  • Lilith: Daemonissa

Current best Dark support. Pairs perfectly with Lamia or other Dark attackers. She’s fast, deadly, and buffs like crazy.

Element
Dark, Plasma
  • Ishmael: Parhelion

Excellent for Nihil comps. Brings clean burst cycles, time-stop, and very high buff uptime. A top-tier enabler in every sense.

Element
Nihil

2. A-Tier Amplifiers

Still very useful in most comps, but slightly overshadowed by S-tier choices.

  • Ayla: Kaleido

Solid buffer with good rotation and smooth gameplay. She works especially well in Ice comps, or as a plug-in for orb-hungry attackers.

Element
Ice
  • Alisa: Echo

Super flexible, decent buffs, and works well across multiple team comps. Just a bit behind in raw amp power compared to S-tier units.

Element
Physical, Glaciation

3. B/C-Tier Supports

Selena: Capriccio and Liv: Luminance have been left behind. Clunky kits, low buff values, and missing time-stop mean you’re better off investing elsewhere unless you’re deep into F2P mode.

  • Selena: Capriccio

Her kit is clunky, her rotations are slow, and she requires way too many resources for not enough payoff. Pretty, but painful to maintain.

Element
Dark
  • Liv: Luminance

Weak buffs, no time-stop, and outdated mechanics. Good starter unit, but best retired once you pull better support.

Element
Physical

If you want your DPS units to stand out, you need at least one of the S-tier supports. Vera: Geiravor and Lilith: Daemonissa are absolute staples in top-tier content, and Ishmael: Parhelion is the rising star of Nihil teams.

A-tier picks are still strong and reliable, but anything below that… better suited for side content or waifu-only runs.
