Welcome to our guide to the Genshin Impact tier list (Version 5.7), where we rank the strongest (and weakest) characters Teyvat has to offer.
If you’re grinding Spiral Abyss, choosing the right characters can make or break your experience. So who’s meta and who’s meh? Let’s break it all down.
Genshin Impact Tier List Criteria

Before we start flinging characters into the meta meat grinder, let’s set the rules.
JOYTIFY TOP UP: PAY LESS, PLAY MORE!
We evaluate them in their best roles, in synergy with the best teammates, and based on how easily they shine with investment.
Below is the role breakdown:
- Main DPS: These are your hypercarries, the ones you keep on-field to deliver nukes or slice up mobs like a cooking show.
- Sub DPS: They tag in, drop a nuke or a DoT, and peace out, but the damage or elemental effect keeps going.
- Support: Shields, buffs, healing, crowd control, you name it. These guys make your carries look good (and alive).
Tier Breakdown
- SS: Meta-defining beasts. Minimal investment, maximum return. Long-term value.
- S: Solid powerhouses. Slightly more investment needed, but worth it.
- A: Strong, but requires high investment or niche comps.
- B: Good in specific teams. Not bad, but they’re not meta drivers.
- C: Replaceable. Better options are available.

Genshin Impact Character Tier List Version 5.7
This 5.7 tier list ranks all characters by how well they perform in real team comps–whether they’re your on-field DPS, off-field burst machine, or reliable support.
It’s the perfect time to see who’s worth building next, with new faces like Skirk and Dahlia shaking things up.
SS Tier
These are the “build them” characters. They deliver across roles and will likely stay relevant for many patches to come.
1. Arlecchino (DPS – SS)
- Pyro powerhouse with massive single/multi-target damage.
- Dominates in Mono-Pyro, Overload, and Reaction-based teams.
- Needs a shielder, but it’s worth the babysitting.
2. Skirk (DPS – SS)
- High multipliers. Freeze-based niche, but still crazy strong outside it.
- Loves Escoffier and Furina as teammates.
- One of the easiest SS picks for pure damage.
3. Bennett (Support – SS)
- Giga-ATK buff + healing. Plug him into any comp.
- Buff isn’t locked behind RNG. Burst is easy to charge.
- Even C0 is usable, but C1 removes that annoying HP condition.
4. Baizhu (Sustain – SS)
- Dendro healer with shields and reaction buffs.
- Best used with Dendro-reaction teams like Hyperbloom or Aggravate.
- Needs some constellations to unlock full comfort, but usable at C0.
S Tier
These characters are strong and versatile but need a little more care, like good artifacts or refined synergy.
1. Clorinde (DPS – S)
- Self-healing Electro DPS with flexible team options.
- Built-in CRIT rate makes her super easy to gear.
- High skill ceiling if you’re into perfect combos.
2. Chiori (Sub-DPS – S)
- Geo queen with summon-based damage.
- Gets a big flexibility boost at C1.
- Great for Mono-Geo and even flex teams with Zhongli.
3. Chevreuse (Support – S)
- Big damage buffs for Overload teams.
- Unlocks potential in comps that normally lag behind.
- At C6, she’s a game-changer for niche comps.
4. Alhaitham (DPS – S)
- EM-scaling Dendro DPS with high AoE and single-target potential.
- Strong but rotation-heavy.
- Rewards players who like skill expression.
A Tier
These folks can perform, but only if you put in the effort. This is like full artifact farming, C2+ constellations, or niche team building.
1. Arataki Itto (DPS – A)
- The king of Mono-Geo DPS.
- Smooth damage cycles and fast combos, especially at C2.
- Struggles outside his element-specific niche.
2. Childe (DPS – A)
- Still a Hydro monster with insane AoE and one-shot potential.
- But cooldown management can feel clunky.
- He shines in Whale comps or Freeze teams.
3. Charlotte (Sustain – A)
- Great Cryo healer with high Burst cost.
- Energy-hungry but rewarding if you go all-in on ER and Constellations.
B Tier
You’ll find these characters useful in specific teams or content, but they don’t scream “meta”.
1. Diluc (DPS – B)
- Still a strong Pyro bruiser, especially early on.
- Plunge synergies with Xiangyun are neat, but not competitive with Arlecchino or Hu Tao.
2. Beidou (Sub DPS – B)
- Strong Burst and counterplay with high pay-off.
- Feels clunky in Spiral Abyss due to high Burst cost and positioning needs.
3. Collei / Dendro Traveler (Support – B)
- Decent off-field Dendro appliers.
- Serve their role, especially in Aggravate or Bloom comps.
- Easily replaced by Nahida or Baizhu.
C Tier
These characters aren’t unplayable, but they feel outdated or too conditional to recommend freely.
1. Dahlia (Support – C)
- Gimmicky shield with movement speed. Fun, but mostly for exploration.
- Low combat relevance unless you’re committed to Freeze comps.
2. Candace (Support – C)
- Decent Hydro buffer. Better at C6.
- Interesting infusion mechanic, but lacks universal synergy.
3. Chongyun (Sub DPS – C)
- Cryo infusion and quick-swap potential.
- Gets overshadowed by Rosaria, Kaeya, and Shenhe.
Version 5.7 Tier List Changes in Genshin Impact
- Skirk joined the SS ranks thanks to top-tier damage and versatility.
- Dahlia sadly flopped to C tier, his shields and skill just don’t hold up.
- “Overall” rankings removed to better reflect actual in-game roles.

Alright, then.. Who should you build first? There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, because the Genshin Impact tier list is just a tool, not a bible.
But if you want a shortcut to success, SS tier picks like Arlecchino, Skirk, Bennett, or Baizhu are safe bets. They fit in multiple teams, don’t need a crazy amount of investment, and will likely stay top-tier for many patches.
And if you love Barbara, Chongyun, or even Xinyan? Go for it. Because sometimes, the best character is the one you enjoy playing.
