    TL;DR

    • The MLBB Advance Server is a testing environment for major balance changes, hero revamps, and updates before they reach the Original Server.
    • To join the Advance Server, players need an Original Server account at Level 15 or higher, a stable connection, and must be located in Southeast Asia.
    • Vanguard Coins, the Advance Server's currency, can be converted to Diamonds on the Original Server, providing a way to earn Diamonds without real money.

The Advance Server in Mobile Legends is where every major balance change, hero revamp, and system update gets tested before it reaches your account.

If you want to know what’s coming before your teammates do, or you’re tired of getting caught off guard by a nerf mid-season, this is the environment Moonton uses to work out the kinks first.

We cover what the advance server actually is, who qualifies, both ways to get in, how Vanguard Coins turn into free Diamonds, and a full breakdown of Patch 2.2.04, the build currently running on the test server as of late July 2026.

The advance server, sometimes called the Advanced Server or Beta Server, is Moonton’s separate test build of MLBB.

It runs alongside the Original Server but shares none of its data. Your heroes, skins, rank, Battle Points, and Diamonds all stay on your main account.

On the advance server, you start over with a fresh profile, though Moonton unlocks every hero for free so testers can try anything without spending a cent.

New heroes, reworks, item changes, battlefield tweaks, and experimental modes typically show up here one to three patches ahead of the Original Server, which usually works out to two to six weeks of lead time.

The Original Server is currently on Patch 2.1.90, live since July 8, 2026 as part of Season 41 “Scarlet Embers.” The advance server, meanwhile, is already running Patch 2.2.04.

Because it’s a genuine test environment, expect rough edges. Skills misfire, UI elements break, and matches can feel chaotic since testers include a mix of serious players farming feedback rewards and casuals treating it as a free-Diamonds playground.

Why it Matters for Your Ranked Games

The gap between the advance server and the Original Server is real competitive time. When the mage rebalance in Patch 2.1.56 hit the advance server back in early 2026, testers saw Gord’s passive scaling get reworked and Yve lose a chunk of her slow effect weeks before either change went live.

why advance server matters for rank in mobile legends

Players who spent that window practicing Gord instead of leaning on Yve walked into the official patch already comfortable with the new pick order, while everyone else scrambled.

The same logic applies to heroes. Marcel, the Soul Photographer, spent months on the advance server testing his time-freezing kit before officially launching alongside Patch 2.1.61 in March.

Anyone who tried him early knew his shield timing and stasis zone cold by the time he hit the Original Server draft pool.

Moonton keeps the advance server capped at roughly 40,000 players spread across 50 to 100 sub-servers, so meeting the requirements gets you in the running, not a guaranteed slot. You’ll need:

    • An Original Server account at Level 15 or higher
    • A stable connection, generally under 100ms of latency
    • A base location in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and similar markets), since Moonton prioritizes access here to keep match quality consistent
    • Your account bound to Facebook, Google Play, TikTok, or a similar linked login, so you don’t lose progress if something goes wrong during the switch

New slots open on Thursdays alongside the weekly reset, and they fill fast. If you’re inactive for too long after getting in, Moonton can reassign your credentials to someone else.

How to Join Mobile Legends Advance Server

Securing a slot is heavily gatekept. Moonton intentionally limits the quota to approximately 40,000 players distributed across 50 to 100 sub-servers to maintain high-quality feedback and stable telemetry.

Access strongly favors the Southeast Asian region (Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) because the development team requires ping under 100ms for reliable testing data.

    The Official In-Game Route

Your Original Server account must be at least Level 15. Your account must also be securely bound to a platform like Google Play, TikTok, or Facebook.

    1. Open the main client and navigate to your Profile icon in the top left.
    2. Tap the Account tab.
    3. Select the Switch Server or Advanced Server button.
    4. If approved, the client will prompt you to download additional resources.

Slots refresh periodically, typically immediately following the Thursday server resets (midday GMT+7 to GMT+8). If the button is inactive, the capacity is capped. Experienced players set alarms for the exact reset minute.

Inactive accounts frequently lose their credentials, which opens up recycled slots for active players attempting to get in.

Method 2: TapTap Beta App (Android)

how to join ml advance server via taptap beta app

This works even if you’re outside the standard invite pool, though iOS testers currently need a direct invite from Moonton instead.

    1. Install the TapTap app store on Android (you’ll need to allow installs from outside the Play Store).
    2. Search for “Mobile Legends Bang Bang Beta.”
    3. Download it when the button is active. Moonton typically opens this window around Friday, and it closes once slots fill.
    4. Install the app and register a new account. This is separate from your TapTap or MLBB login, so you can’t reuse your main credentials.

The TapTap beta build runs the same patch as the in-app advance server, just through an independent installation.

Vanguard Coins: Free Diamonds for Testing

Vanguard Coin is the advance server’s own currency, and it converts 1 to 1 into Diamonds on your Original Server account once redeemed. It’s one of the only ways to earn Diamonds without spending real money.

You can pick up Vanguard Coins by completing the daily Vanguard Coin Supply tasks, claiming rewards through the Vanguard Benefits event, and filing bug reports through the in-game feedback tool.

Once you’ve built up a stack, head to the Recharge Center to convert them (on the TapTap beta version, look under Events instead, since the standard Recharge Center path isn’t always available there).

Specific, detailed bug reports with video evidence tend to get rewarded more consistently than vague ones, so it’s worth recording the issue if you can.

What’s Live on the MLBB Advance Server Right Now: Patch 2.2.04

Patch 2.2.04 went up on the advance server on July 25, 2026, following Patch 2.2.02. It’s a lighter balance pass compared to a full season update, but a few changes are worth tracking before they hit the Original Server.

    Hero Adjustments

Gord took a real nerf here. His passive base damage drops from 140 to 120, and his ultimate’s base damage falls from a 110-210 range down to 100-180. After Gord’s rise up the mid lane tier list following his Season 40 buffs, this looks like Moonton pulling him back toward the pack.

Novaria got a smaller buff in the other direction. Her Skill 2 magic power bonus climbs from 90% to 95%, closing the gap between her advance server numbers and what’s already live on the Original Server.

Aldous and Odette both had their previous adjustments temporarily reverted, which suggests Moonton is still working out the right numbers for both before committing to anything permanent.

    Brawl Mode Changes

Aulus, Barats, Edith, and Esmeralda all take extra damage in Brawl specifically, while Luo Yi and Mathilda get buffed there.

Yin, Lolita, and Atlas had bugs fixed that were keeping them out of the mode entirely, so all three are playable in Brawl again. Survival Mode 2 and Card Brawl are both temporarily closed on this build.

    System Updates

The new Collection Showcase feature is live, letting you display battle emotes, sacred statues, and hero skin badges alongside your regular skin collection, with a drag-and-drop edit mode.

On the other side, the custom UI layout options for medium and large buttons that appeared in a recent patch have been rolled back for now, and the lowered Highlights Notification trigger threshold for sub-Epic matches was reverted too.

None of this is final. Advance server numbers shift constantly before anything reaches the Original Server, so treat every figure here as a strong signal rather than a locked-in patch note.

Getting into the Advance Server in Mobile Legends gives you a real head start, whether that’s understanding a nerf before it lands on your main or getting comfortable with a hero everyone else will be scrambling to learn in a few weeks.

But all that early knowledge only pays off if you’re actually ready to act on it the moment Patch 2.2.04’s changes (or whatever comes after it) go live on the Original Server.

Showing up to a fresh meta with an empty Diamond balance means watching everyone else unlock the new hero or grab the matching skin while you’re still grinding Battle Points the slow way.

The smarter move is to top up on ML Diamonds before the patch drops, not after. Joytify offers secure, instant top-ups so your account is already primed when the update goes live, letting you jump straight into testing the new meta instead of waiting on it.

    FAQs

You need to register for an Advance Server account through the official Moonton website and download a separate Advance Server client. Access is not automatic and may require an activation code depending on the current registration period.

No, progress, currency, and items earned on the Advance Server do not carry over to your regular Mobile Legends account. The Advance Server is a separate testing environment meant exclusively for previewing upcoming content.

Patch 2.2.04 on the Advance Server typically includes hero balance adjustments, skill revamps, and new system mechanics before they go live. Testing these changes early allows players to anticipate how the meta may shift in the official release.
