When Is the Steam Autumn Sale 2026?
The official Steam Autumn Sale 2026 dates are October 1 to October 8, 2026. Valve lists the event as one of its annual Steam-wide seasonal sales.
So if you’re asking when the next big Steam discount event is happening, October 1 is the date to remember.
The event only lasts one week, so you don’t have unlimited time to compare games and decide what to buy. It’s worth making a shortlist before the sale begins, especially if you’re shopping with a fixed budget.
Steam Autumn Sale 2026 Deals You Can Get
Valve allows released games to participate in its seasonal sales, although individual games must follow the platform’s discount rules. Generally, games need to have been released at least 30 days before the event to participate.
However, Valve does not decide every game’s discount. Publishers and developers set the prices themselves, which means you should treat any rumored Steam Autumn Sale 2026 deals as unconfirmed until the sale goes live.
The good news is that seasonal sales cover a huge variety of games. That means you don’t need to stick to the biggest AAA releases. Some of the most useful purchases can come from older games that have accumulated years of content.

Steam Autumn Sale 2026 Games Worth Watching
Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive CRPG with turn-based combat, character customization, branching quests, and a large cast of companions.
If you’re looking for a game that can keep you busy for a long time, this should be one of the first RPGs to check when the Autumn Sale Steam event starts.
StarCraft Returns: Everything to Know About the 2030 Shift
ELDEN RING
For players who want challenging combat and exploration, ELDEN RING remains one of the biggest action RPGs on Steam.
The Lands Between is packed with bosses, hidden areas, weapons, spells, and different character builds. If you’ve been waiting for a discount before trying FromSoftware’s open-world adventure, add it to your wishlist.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is another game worth checking during the sale.
Its Night City setting gives players plenty of freedom in how they approach missions, with guns, hacking, stealth, cyberware, and different builds available. It is a strong candidate for players who want a large single-player RPG.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Review: Issen Frame-Data & Combat
HELLDIVERS 2
Want something multiplayer? HELLDIVERS 2 focuses on four-player co-op missions where things can go wrong very quickly.
The combination of chaotic battles, friendly fire, objectives, and team-based strategy makes it a fun choice for groups of friends. If you have been waiting for a lower price before buying it, check its Steam listing once the sale starts.
Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong offers action-focused gameplay with fast combat, transformations, bosses, and a fantasy world inspired by Journey to the West.
Its strong visual presentation makes it one of the more interesting modern action RPGs to keep on a Steam wishlist.
Hades II
Hades II is built around repeatable runs, fast combat, upgrades, and different character builds.
That makes it a good option if you prefer games you can play for short sessions while still having plenty of progression to work toward.
Palworld
Palworld combines survival crafting, creature collecting, exploration, base building, and multiplayer.
If you and your friends are looking for something less traditional, it is worth checking whether the game receives a discount during the Autumn Sale.
Persona 3 Reload
Persona 3 Reload is aimed at JRPG fans who enjoy a combination of turn-based combat and story-driven character development.
You split your time between everyday school activities, social relationships, and supernatural dungeon exploration. It is a good wishlist candidate if you prefer longer, story-heavy RPGs.
Stardew Valley
For a more relaxed experience, Stardew Valley remains a popular choice.
You can farm, fish, mine, craft, explore, build relationships, and play together with friends. It is also the type of game where a small discount can still translate into a huge amount of playtime.
Monster Hunter: World
Monster Hunter: World is worth checking if you enjoy action games that revolve around learning enemy patterns and improving your equipment.
Hunting monsters gives you materials for crafting better weapons and armor, while the fourteen weapon types provide plenty of room to experiment. Online co-op also makes it a good game to play with friends.
Steam Autumn Sale 2026 Tips
Before buying anything, compare the final price, not just the discount percentage.
A game advertised at 75% off might still cost more than another title discounted by 50%. You should also check which edition you’re buying. Deluxe and complete editions can include DLC that would cost extra if purchased separately.
Your Steam wishlist is also useful. Add games you actually want before October 1, then check which ones receive price reductions when the sale begins.
Valve says discounts of at least 20% can automatically trigger wishlist email notifications, giving players another way to keep track of qualifying discounts.
Should You Wait for the Steam Winter Sale?
If you don’t find a deal you like during the Steam Autumn Sale 2026, another major seasonal sale is scheduled for later in the year.
The Steam Winter Sale 2026 is scheduled for December 17, 2026, through January 4, 2027.
Still, there’s no guarantee that a particular game will receive a larger discount during Winter. If you find a price that fits your budget and you’re ready to play, you can make the purchase without assuming the next sale will automatically be cheaper.
The final Steam Autumn Sale 2026 deals won’t be known until participating publishers set their discounts. Until then, the easiest move is to clean up your wishlist and decide which games you actually want to buy.
