Season 42’s lobby is already carrying anniversary-themed animations, and the interface previews are centered on Layla.

Her 10th Anniversary treatment leans into a magical-girl, color-shifting aesthetic with RGB hair effects and dialogue-style poses in the main menu, which tells you Moonton is treating her as the flagship cosmetic of the whole celebration. As the default starter hero, that nostalgia angle isn’t subtle, and it’s clearly intentional.

There’s also a lifetime reward buried in the patch notes: players who’ve logged 15,000 total matches (Ranked plus every other mode, combined, forever) can claim a free 10th Anniversary avatar.

10-Year Memory Collection. This is a non-resetting task track. You complete designated missions throughout the entire event to earn “Memories,” and each milestone reward is claimable exactly once. It rewards consistency over the full event window, not burst effort in the first three days.

10th Anniversary Carnival Battle Pass. This is the free track that matters most for cosmetic ROI. Leveling the pass earns 10th Anniversary Coins, the dedicated event currency, and test data shows roughly 150 coins per level with a total near 2,590 coins by full completion. That’s the number you need to memorize, because Nana’s Epic skin costs approximately 1,200 coins in the shop. Full Battle Pass progression alone clears that with room to spare.

Staged reward drops. Testing revealed a rolling calendar of bonus windows layered on top of the main pass: Task Skip Made Easy for busy players, free customization items (four or more confirmed pieces), a high-value 10th Anniversary Weekend Gift, and Layla’s Stellar Gift. These aren’t one-time claims spread evenly across the event; they land in bursts, which means missing a specific weekend can cost you a milestone you can’t get back.

Anniversary cosmetics. Beyond the three headline skins, expect a glowing golden “10” recall effect, a matching spawn effect, a gold-explosion elimination effect, plus new battlefield icons, borders, and achievement logos. Login rewards during the event include at least one random Special skin chest.

Rank Party integration. Moonton folded the Rank Party Event directly into the anniversary framing. Daily and weekly missions (logging in, playing matches, teaming with friends) earn exchange coins for permanent Elite skins and Ranked perks like double Star-Raising Points and Star Protection Points.

Since full Battle Pass completion generates around 2,590 coins, this skin is functionally free for anyone who plays consistently through the event window. It’s the single easiest high-tier reward Moonton has offered in an anniversary event to date.

Chou, Special-tier 10th Anniversary. Tied more closely to Battle Pass level thresholds than the coin shop. Community tracking points to a September 18 release window. It’s the smaller reward of the three, but it rounds out a set that, in past years, would have required real spending to complete.

Testing also surfaced a handful of random Special and Epic chests layered into the collection track, along with selection chests that let you pick between cosmetic pools.

Early asset inventories put the total free skin count as high as six Epic or Special pieces once you count random pulls and selection rewards, though that number is the kind of thing Moonton tends to trim before original server launch.

Do the Revamped Interfaces Give You an Edge

The anniversary isn’t purely cosmetic. Layla’s updated interface work and the sharper VFX on the new “10” battle effects are more legible in chaotic five-versus-five fights than the older assets they’re replacing, particularly the elimination effect’s gold explosion, which reads clearly even in a cluttered teamfight where three ultimates go off in the same second.

That’s not going to change your win rate on its own, but a cleaner visual read on kill confirmations matters when you’re deciding to dive for a reset or hold back.

None of the three anniversary skins change hitboxes or hurtbox timing; Moonton hasn’t done that with cosmetic-tier skins in years.

Log in daily from day one. The Memory Collection track doesn’t reset, but several of the staged bonus windows (the Weekend Gift, Layla’s Stellar Gift) are time-limited and don’t carry over if you miss them.

Prioritize Battle Pass leveling over chasing the Memory Collection early. The coin math only works if you’re close to the 2,590-coin ceiling by the time Nana’s shop listing appears, and coins are what unlock her Epic skin without spending anything.

Check your lifetime match count now, before the event launches. If you’re within reach of 15,000 total matches, plan your Ranked and Classic games during the event window so the avatar unlock lands while the celebration is still live.

Hold your Memory Collection claims for the Layla milestone. Early leaks put her at roughly 2,000 collection points, and that’s a full-event target, not a first-week one. Spending Memories on smaller rewards early can leave you short later.

The Base Diamond Tax and Phase Recharge Thresholds

Hoarding thousands of Anniversary Coins and stacking every Memory Collection milestone gets you most of the way to a completely free Layla, Nana, and Chou set, but the underlying economy of every MLBB anniversary event still runs through a Diamond checkpoint somewhere. 

Selection chests, certain shop discounts, and the Phase 2 recharge milestones that unlock bonus tickets all require an actual Diamond balance to trigger, and getting to the shop counter with a fully loaded coin balance but a zero Diamond account is how players lose a discount they spent weeks earning.

Missing a Phase 2 recharge threshold by a small margin right as the event window closes is worse: the milestone doesn’t roll over, and neither does the ticket bundle attached to it.
